IPMAT Rohtak: Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Cutoff & Admission

Students planning to pursue management immediately after Class 12 have several IIM entrance routes, and IPMAT Rohtak is one of the most important among them.

IPMAT Rohtak, formally referred to by IIM Rohtak as the IPM Aptitude Test (IPM AT), is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak for admission to its prestigious Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM).

The programme combines undergraduate and postgraduate management education and ultimately leads to an integrated BBA + MBA degree, subject to satisfying IIM Rohtak’s academic requirements.

For the 2026 admission cycle, IIM Rohtak conducted IPM AT on 10 May 2026. The institute offered 198 seats for the IPM 2026–31 batch.

This guide explains everything a student needs to know about IPMAT Rohtak admissions, eligibility, syllabus, exam pattern, marking scheme, cutoff, selection process, fees, seats, participating programmes and preparation strategy.

What is IPMAT Rohtak?

IPMAT Rohtak is an aptitude-based entrance test conducted by IIM Rohtak for students seeking admission to its Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management after Class 12.

The admission journey broadly looks like this:

Class 12 → IPMAT Rohtak → Shortlisting → Personal Interview → Final Merit List → IIM Rohtak IPM

Unlike CAT, students do not need to first complete a bachelor’s degree to enter the programme.

Students can begin their management education directly after school.

What is IIM Rohtak’s Five-Year IPM?

IIM Rohtak introduced its Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management in 2019.

It combines:

Undergraduate Management Education

with

Postgraduate Management Education

into one integrated programme.

On successfully completing all five years, students are awarded an:

Integrated BBA + MBA

by IIM Rohtak.

IIM Rohtak IPM Programme Structure

The programme consists of:

15 terms over five years

with approximately:

3 terms per academic year.

The five years are broadly divided into two stages.

First Three Years – Foundation Stage

The first part focuses strongly on:

  • Mathematics

  • Economics

  • Statistics

  • Humanities

Other areas include:

  • Business Communication

  • Management Information Systems

  • Business-related subjects

  • Foreign Languages

IIM Rohtak also provides students with internship exposure during the programme.

Fourth and Fifth Years – Management Stage

During the final two years, students undertake management education aligned with IIM Rohtak’s postgraduate management curriculum.

Subjects can cover areas such as:

  • Marketing

  • Finance

  • Operations

  • Strategy

  • Human Resource Management

  • Organisational Behaviour

  • Economics

  • Information Systems

  • Analytics

  • Communication

  • Entrepreneurship

Exit Option after Three Years

IIM Rohtak provides an important exit option.

Students who successfully complete the first three years may voluntarily exit the programme and receive:

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

subject to satisfying programme requirements.

To continue into Years 4 and 5 and earn the integrated master’s qualification, students need to maintain the prescribed academic standard.

IIM Rohtak currently states that students require a minimum:

CGPA of 5.0 at the end of Year 3

to continue into the final two years.

Students below 5.0 but not below 4.0 CGPA can exit with a BBA according to the institute’s stated rules.

IPMAT Rohtak Eligibility Criteria

Students should carefully check eligibility before filling out the application form.

For the IPM 2026–31 batch, IIM Rohtak prescribed both:

  • academic percentage requirements, and

  • an age limit.

IPMAT Rohtak Academic Eligibility 2026

Candidates needed:

Class 10

Minimum:

60%

and

Class 12

Minimum:

60%

for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates.

For:

  • SC

  • ST

  • DAP

the minimum requirement was:

55% in Class 10 and Class 12.

How Does IIM Rohtak Calculate Class 10 and 12 Percentage?

This is an important detail.

For the 2026 admission process, IIM Rohtak stated that the percentage would be calculated using the:

aggregate marks of any best five subjects appearing on the mark sheet/grade sheet

irrespective of the particular board’s method of calculation.

This can be important for students whose boards calculate percentages differently.

IPMAT Rohtak Age Limit

For the 2026–31 batch:

General/EWS/NC-OBC etc.

Maximum age:

20 years as on 30 June 2026

SC/ST

Maximum age:

25 years as on 30 June 2026

Students preparing for 2027 should wait for IIM Rohtak to publish the corresponding 2027 cutoff date.

Can Students Appearing for Class 12 Apply?

Yes.

Candidates who were likely to complete Class 12/HSC or equivalent by the end of June 2026 could apply for the 2026 cycle.

However, admission remained provisional until the student produced the required Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and satisfied the minimum percentage requirement.

Is Mathematics Compulsory in Class 12 for IPMAT Rohtak?

IIM Rohtak’s 2026 IPM eligibility criteria did not state that Mathematics in Class 12 was compulsory.

Therefore, eligible students from:

  • Commerce

  • Arts/Humanities

  • Science

could apply.

However, Mathematics plays an important role in the entrance examination through the Quantitative Ability section.

Students who did not study Mathematics in Classes 11–12 may therefore need additional preparation.

Can Commerce Students Apply for IPMAT Rohtak?

Yes.

Commerce students can apply subject to the eligibility criteria.

Can Commerce without Maths Students Apply?

Yes, based on IIM Rohtak’s 2026 eligibility criteria.

Class 12 Mathematics was not listed as a mandatory condition.

However, the student must still prepare seriously for Quantitative Ability.

Can Arts Students Apply for IPMAT Rohtak?

Yes.

Arts/Humanities students can apply if they meet:

  • percentage requirements, and

  • age requirements.

Can Science Students Apply?

Yes.

Science-stream students are eligible subject to the same admission conditions.

for eligible applicants.

Students should check the new prospectus for the 2027 fee because application charges can change.

IPMAT Rohtak Exam Pattern

IPMAT Rohtak has a relatively simple structure compared with IPMAT Indore.

There are three sections:

  1. Quantitative Ability

  2. Logical Reasoning

  3. Verbal Ability

Each section contains:

40 questions

making a total of:

120 questions.

IPMAT Rohtak Exam Pattern Table

SectionQuestionsMarks
Quantitative Ability40160
Logical Reasoning40160
Verbal Ability40160
Total120480

Standard duration:

120 minutes

or:

2 hours

Each correct response carries four marks and each incorrect answer attracts a one-mark penalty.

Important Note About IPMAT Rohtak 2026 Maximum Marks

Although the standard paper contained 120 questions and was therefore designed for 480 marks, IIM Rohtak subsequently declared:

two questions null and void.

As a result, the final evaluation of candidates for IPMAT Rohtak 2026 IPM admission was out of 472 marks, not 480.

This is particularly important when interpreting the 2026 cutoff marks.

IPMAT Rohtak Marking Scheme

Correct Answer

Incorrect Answer

-1 mark

Unattempted Question

0 marks

IIM Rohtak’s FAQ also confirms that no marks are awarded or deducted for an unanswered question.

Does IPMAT Rohtak Have Sectional Cutoffs?

For IPMAT Rohtak 2026, IIM Rohtak explicitly stated:

There was no sectional cutoff for the Aptitude Test.

This is an important difference from exams where candidates have to independently cross minimum marks in every section.

However, students should still avoid completely neglecting any section because all three contribute to the total score.

Is There a Sectional Time Limit?

IIM Rohtak’s official 2026 pattern gives the overall three-section test:

120 minutes

and does not specify separate 40-minute locked sectional windows similar to IPMAT Indore.

Students should therefore plan their overall test time carefully.

IPMAT Rohtak Syllabus

IIM Rohtak officially describes IPM AT as testing:

  • aptitude,

  • logical reasoning, and

IPMAT Rohtak Admission Process

Admission to IIM Rohtak’s IPM is not determined only by the entrance-test score.

The 2026 selection process consisted of several stages.

Stage 1 – Online Registration

Candidates first registered on IIM Rohtak’s admission portal.

For 2026:

Registration opened: 6 February 2026

Registration closed: 6 April 2026

Application fee:

₹4,937

Stage 2 – IPM Aptitude Test

Candidates appeared for IIM Rohtak’s aptitude test.

The examination assessed:

  • Quantitative Ability

  • Logical Reasoning

  • Verbal Ability

For 2026, the exam was held on:

10 May 2026.

Stage 3 – Personal Interview Shortlisting

Candidates were shortlisted based on:

  • eligibility criteria, and

  • IPM AT score.

Shortlisted candidates were called for a:

Personal Interview (PI).

IIM Rohtak states that candidates are evaluated in the interview based on areas including:

  • academics,

  • general awareness, and

  • communication skills.

Stage 4 – Final Merit List

The final selection is not based entirely on IPMAT marks.

IIM Rohtak’s 2026 selection weightage was:

ComponentWeightage
IPM Aptitude Test55%
Personal Interview15%
Class 10 Marks10%
Class 12 Marks20%
Total100%

This means school performance contributed:

30% of the final composite score.

Students with strong Class 10 and 12 marks therefore have an advantage in the final selection process.

IPMAT Rohtak 2026 Official Cutoff

IIM Rohtak has published its official 2026 IPM Aptitude Test summary.

The minimum scores used for shortlisting candidates for Personal Interview were:

CategoryIPMAT Rohtak 2026 Cutoff
General363
EWS330
NC-OBC307
SC246
ST168
DAP-General260
DAP-EWS243
DAP-NC-OBC217
DAP-SC189
DAP-ST215

These are actual officially published 2026 minimum cutoff marks for the PI shortlist.

Important Context for the 2026 Cutoff

Remember:

The standard paper was designed for:

480 marks

but due to two questions being cancelled, IIM Rohtak evaluated IPMAT 2026 for IPM admission out of:

472 marks.

Therefore, students should not compare the 2026 cutoff blindly with another year’s cutoff without considering the effective maximum marks and paper difficulty.

How Competitive Was IPMAT Rohtak 2026?

Official IIM Rohtak statistics provide a useful picture.

Candidates Called for the Test

14,488

Candidates Who Attended

12,522

Candidates Meeting the Published Cutoff

1,030

Candidates Shortlisted for Personal Interview

1,030

With only 198 IPM seats, this demonstrates the competition involved.

General Category Competition 2026

Among General-category candidates:

9,148 attended the examination.

Only:

453

met the General cutoff of:

363 marks

and were shortlisted for the PI stage.

This is why aspirants should aim significantly above merely average performance.

What is a Good IPMAT Rohtak Score?

There is no permanent safe score because the required score changes each year according to:

  • difficulty of the examination,

  • number of applicants,

  • candidate performance,

  • number of seats,

  • category,

  • cancelled questions, if any.

However, actual 2026 data provides a useful benchmark.

For General candidates, the PI-shortlisting cutoff was:

363 out of the effective 472 marks.

Students preparing for the next examination should therefore aim for consistently high mock-test accuracy rather than planning around the bare cutoff.

IPMAT Rohtak Seats

For the IPM Batch 08, Session 2026–31, IIM Rohtak officially announced:

198 seats

including applicable reservations.

IIM Rohtak Reservation

Admissions follow applicable Government of India reservation rules for categories including:

  • General

  • EWS

  • NC-OBC

  • SC

  • ST

  • DAP/PwD

IIM Rohtak specifically notes that 10% of the total seats are offered to EWS candidates under the applicable reservation framework.

IIM Rohtak IPM Fees 2026–31

IIM Rohtak has officially published the IPM-08 fee structure.

Programme Fee for First Three Years

YearProgramme Fee
Year 1₹6,22,045
Year 2₹6,22,045
Year 3₹6,22,045
First Three Years₹18,66,135

Additional Charges

IIM Rohtak separately lists other charges/deposits.

First Year

Approximately:

₹64,000

including components such as:

  • study material,

  • development fee,

  • mess caution deposit,

  • security deposit,

  • utility deposit.

Second Year

Approximately:

₹34,000

Third Year

Approximately:

₹34,000

Some deposits are refundable and certain charges are subject to revision.

Mess Charges

Mess fees are additional.

IIM Rohtak states that annual mess charges are communicated at the beginning of the relevant academic year.

Fourth and Fifth Year Fees

For Years 4 and 5:

the PGP/MBA fee applicable at that time will be charged.

Therefore, students should not assume a fixed five-year total fee today.

Offer Acceptance Amount

A student accepting an IIM Rohtak IPM 2026 admission offer was required to deposit:

₹1,00,000

as the Offer Acceptance Amount, subject to the offer letter.

This amount is adjusted against the first-year programme fee.

Does IIM Rohtak Provide Hostel Accommodation?

Yes.

IIM Rohtak’s 2026 admission information states that hostel rooms are allocated to admitted IPM students on a:

sharing basis.

Students should separately budget for mess and relevant living expenses.

Colleges Accepting IPMAT Rohtak Score

This section needs special care because there is considerable confusion online.

Primary Confirmed College

IIM Rohtak

Programme: Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management

Exam: IPM Aptitude Test / IPMAT Rohtak

Seats 2026: 198

Selection:

  • IPMAT – 55%

  • PI – 15%

  • Class 10 – 10%

  • Class 12 – 20%

This is the principal management programme for which the examination is conducted.

Does IIM Indore Accept IPMAT Rohtak?

Do not assume so.

IIM Indore conducts its own:

IPMAT Indore / IPM AT

for admission to its Integrated Programme in Management.

IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak are separate examinations.

Does IIM Ranchi Accept IPMAT Rohtak?

IIM Ranchi’s IPM admission process has specifically referred to the IPMAT conducted by IIM Indore, not IIM Rohtak.

Therefore, MBA4U should not list IIM Ranchi as a confirmed IPMAT Rohtak accepting college unless its admission policy for a particular year explicitly says so.

Does IIM Shillong Accept IPMAT Rohtak?

IIM Shillong’s recent IPM admission policy has used IPM AT conducted by IIM Indore.

Therefore, it should not be automatically included under IPMAT Rohtak accepting colleges.

Does IIM Amritsar Accept IPMAT Rohtak?

Recent IIM Amritsar IPM admission policy has referenced IPM-AT conducted by IIM Indore.

Again, this is different from IIM Rohtak’s exam.

Does IIFT Kakinada Accept IPMAT Rohtak?

IIFT’s recent IPM admission process has used IPMAT conducted by IIM Indore.

Therefore, students should not assume that an IPMAT Rohtak score can be substituted.

Does Nirma University Accept IPMAT Rohtak?

Nirma’s integrated management admissions have referred specifically to the IPMAT conducted by IIM Indore in recent admission cycles.

Students should verify the particular year’s notification rather than relying on generic online lists of “IPMAT colleges.”

Why Online Lists Can Be Misleading

Many websites use the generic term:

“Colleges Accepting IPMAT”

and then combine:

  • IPMAT Indore,

  • IPMAT Rohtak,

  • JIPMAT

or other tests into one list.

This is misleading.

The correct question students should ask is:

Which exact IPMAT score does the institute accept – Indore or Rohtak?

For the 2026 cycle, students should treat IIM Rohtak itself as the principal confirmed IPMAT Rohtak management destination unless another institute’s official admission notification explicitly accepts the Rohtak test.

Another Programme Using IIM Rohtak IPM AT – Integrated Programme in Law

There is one important additional opportunity within IIM Rohtak itself.

IIM Rohtak also offers a:

Five-Year Integrated Programme in Law (IPL).

For 2026, candidates selecting the IPL option while registering through IPM AT also appeared for an additional:

Legal Reasoning section

containing:

20 questions

with:

20 additional minutes.

Each question carried:

+4 marks

with:

-1 for an incorrect answer.

Therefore, a student interested in both management and law should carefully examine IIM Rohtak’s IPL admission route separately.

Is IPMAT Rohtak Easier than IPMAT Indore?

The two papers test students differently.

IPMAT Indore

is known for a relatively demanding Quantitative Ability component and separate:

  • QA Short Answer

  • QA MCQ

sections.

IPMAT Rohtak

has three equally sized sections:

  • QA

  • Logical Reasoning

  • Verbal Ability

Therefore, a student strong in Logical Reasoning and English may find IPMAT Rohtak’s structure comparatively suitable.

But that does not make admission easy.

The official 2026 statistics show more than 12,500 candidates appeared, while IIM Rohtak offered only 198 IPM seats.

How to Prepare for IPMAT Rohtak

A strong preparation plan should treat all three sections seriously.

Step 1 – Build Quantitative Fundamentals

Begin with:

  • Arithmetic

  • Number System

  • Algebra

  • Geometry

Make sure concepts are clear before moving to high-speed questions.

Step 2 – Practise Logical Reasoning Every Day

Because LR contributes:

40 out of 120 questions

it deserves equal preparation.

Practise:

  • arrangements,

  • series,

  • coding,

  • puzzles,

  • blood relations,

  • directions,

  • syllogisms.

Step 3 – Improve Reading Ability

Read quality English content every day.

Useful sources include:

  • newspaper editorials,

  • business articles,

  • long-form essays,

  • magazines.

This helps improve:

  • comprehension,

  • vocabulary,

  • reading speed,

  • inference skills.

Step 4 – Improve Vocabulary

Maintain a notebook containing:

  • new word,

  • meaning,

  • synonym,

  • antonym,

  • example sentence.

Regular revision matters more than memorising large lists once.

Step 5 – Solve Previous-Year Questions

Previous IPMAT Rohtak papers help understand:

  • difficulty level,

  • question types,

  • topic frequency,

  • speed requirements.

Step 6 – Take Full-Length Mock Tests

Your mocks should simulate:

120 questions in 120 minutes

with:

+4/-1 marking.

That means the nominal average is only:

one minute per question.

Question selection is therefore extremely important.

Step 7 – Analyse Every Mock

After a mock test, identify:

  • Concept mistakes

  • Calculation mistakes

  • Misreading

  • Poor time allocation

  • Unnecessary guessing

  • Wrong question selection

A mock that you do not analyse properly has limited value.

Suggested Time Management

Because the official pattern provides an overall 120-minute test rather than locked 40-minute sectional windows, students can build a strategy according to their strengths.

One possible approach:

SectionSuggested Time
Quantitative Ability42–45 minutes
Logical Reasoning38–42 minutes
Verbal Ability28–32 minutes
Final Review5–10 minutes

This is only a suggested strategy.

A student particularly strong in Verbal Ability may complete that section faster.

Accuracy vs Attempts

Because IPMAT Rohtak has negative marking:

  • correct answer = +4

  • wrong answer = -1

blind guessing can hurt.

For example:

4 wrong answers = -4 marks

which effectively cancels the gain from:

1 correct answer = +4 marks

Students should optimise both:

attempts + accuracy.

Personal Interview Preparation

The PI contributes:

15%

to the 2026 final selection score.

IIM Rohtak states that interview evaluation includes:

  • academics,

  • general awareness,

  • communication skills.

Academic Preparation

Revise important concepts from your Class 11 and 12 subjects.

Possible interview questions may come from:

  • Mathematics

  • Economics

  • Accountancy

  • Business Studies

  • Political Science

  • History

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Biology

depending on your academic background.

General Awareness

Follow:

  • national news,

  • international news,

  • economics,

  • business,

  • major Government policies,

  • important international developments.

Personal Questions

Prepare answers to:

  • Tell me about yourself.

  • Why management?

  • Why IPM?

  • Why IIM Rohtak?

  • Why not pursue a regular BBA first?

  • What are your career goals?

  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

  • What are your hobbies?

Answers should be authentic rather than memorised scripts.

Common Mistakes IPMAT Rohtak Aspirants Should Avoid

1. Confusing IPMAT Rohtak with IPMAT Indore

They are separate entrance tests.

2. Assuming Every “IPMAT College” Accepts Rohtak Scores

Many institutes specifically accept IPMAT Indore, not Rohtak.

Always check the official admission policy.

3. Ignoring Class 10 and 12 Marks

At IIM Rohtak, they together carried:

30%

of the 2026 final merit score.

4. Ignoring Logical Reasoning

Logical Reasoning accounts for one-third of the test.

5. Random Guessing

Negative marking can substantially reduce your total.

6. Preparing Only for the Entrance Exam

Getting a PI call is not final admission.

Students must also prepare for the interview.

Advantages of IIM Rohtak IPM

MBA4U Recommendation

IPMAT Rohtak should be considered one of the major entrance examinations for students serious about pursuing management after Class 12.

Its biggest attraction is a direct opportunity to enter IIM Rohtak’s Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management.

However, students should understand four important points.

First, IPMAT Rohtak is not the same exam as IPMAT Indore.

Second, not every college advertising “IPMAT acceptance” necessarily accepts the Rohtak score.

Third, IIM Rohtak gives substantial importance to past academics. In 2026, Classes 10 and 12 together contributed 30% of the final selection score.

Fourth, clearing the written examination does not guarantee admission because shortlisted candidates must also perform well in the Personal Interview.

For a serious IPMAT Rohtak aspirant, the preparation priorities should therefore be:

  1. Build strong Quantitative Ability fundamentals.

  2. Give Logical Reasoning equal importance.

  3. Improve English vocabulary and reading comprehension.

  4. Take full-length 120-minute mocks.

  5. Maintain high accuracy because of negative marking.

  6. Analyse previous IPMAT Rohtak papers.

  7. Prepare Class 11–12 academic subjects for the PI.

  8. Follow current affairs and business news.

  9. Apply separately to IPMAT Indore and JIPMAT where eligible to increase college options.

  10. Check IIM Rohtak’s official notification every year before applying.

Students preparing for IPMAT Rohtak 2027 can presently use the 2026 pattern and syllabus as their preparation base, but the official 2027 dates, eligibility, application fee, seats and selection policy should be confirmed once IIM Rohtak releases the new admission prospectus.
